Site Location: Chicago's Bronzeville Neighborhood.  

Timeline: Construction Completed in Spring of 2018.

Project Description:  Two new standalone retail drive-thru establishments and remodel of a third retail building comprises this 2.2 acre retail site on a major urban boulevard. 

Integrated into a wider 17-acre retail campus, this revisioned retail center positioned on a boulevard frontage, stands at the crossroads of changing consumer habits and existing 1950's infrastructure. Complex regulatory and permitting requirements included the procurement of driveway permits, R.O.W. & underground approvals, and navigation of the City of Chicago's stringent Stormwater Management Ordinance. 16,000 cu.ft. of stormwater detention is provided in a system of pipes and weir-walls integrated beneath traffic bearing permeable paver blocks that aesthetically compliment the site. 

Civil Scope:  Full-civil design services included production of 19 drawings, CAD models, book specifications, procurement of Stormwater, Driveway, and R.O.W. permits and/or approvals.  Bid, construction, and close-out phases fully supported with a Community facing orientation and presence.  

Unique Site Features:  2 new drive-thru lanes, access lane off of boulevard,  complex existing underground infrastructure, and vault-free stormwater detention management.
