As part of Northwestern Medicine’s effort to expand outpatient services across Chicago, this new 5-story medical center was developed on a compact, 60,000 sq.ft. urban site in Bronzeville. The facility includes an integrated 250-car parking garage and is targeting LEED Silver certification. The design maximizes the lot-to-lot layout, incorporating a 10,500 cu.ft. underground stormwater detention system with built-in backflow prevention and overflow protection to reduce the risk of garage flooding during heavy storms.
Engage Civil provided full civil engineering services for the site, including water service, sanitary and stormwater system design—all aligned with LEED criteria and the City of Chicago’s strict Stormwater Management Regulations. The team also delivered ADA- and CDOT-compliant sidewalk and alley improvements, securing all required civil approvals on time to keep construction on track.
